Iklin is a village in the Central Region of Malta, with a population of 3,130 people. Clockwise northerly, Iklin is bordered by Għargħur, San Ġwann, Birkirkara, Balzan, Lija, and Naxxar . Iklin detached itself only recently from neighbouring village, Lija. A number of commercial outlets have more recently opened in the area.
Iklin started being developed during the late 1970’s and today is one of the most sought localities on the island due to its central geographic advantage being the nearest locality to both Mater Dei hospital and the University of Malta. This makes it residentially attractive to students who have to travel daily to these institutions.
